The Academy of Night and Day has been around for centuries, if not more. In a world where most don't even know the Academy exists. While most of those that do, don't even know what takes place within its walls. It only takes those most likely to pass the tests, or those who have recommendations from its teachers or those who have already graduated. What goes on within, however, is far more worrying than rigorous tests and the demands of a social life in an exclusive boarding school.
Nico Di Angelo is a new student at the Academy, along with his sister, Hazel Levesque. Upon arrival, they, along with the other new students, are told not to leave their dorms at night, with the same message repeated over dinner. What is strange about it is they are told leaving could cause serious injury, or even death. Then he finds out he is a Nocte, or Night, student, While Hazel, the only piece of familiarity in this strange school, is a Dia, or Day student. It also doesn't help that his dad is the Assistant Headmaster.
Percy Jackson is starting his third year at the Academy. Being a Nocte student has its upsides. Such as being a vampire, not sharing a room with a human Dia. But, unlike his two previous years, he is sharing a room with someone. Someone who is a freshman. Who has a Dia sister and may have PTSD. From what, no one knows but him, Hades, and his sister. There is also the little fact that he seems to be completely, utterly, and deliciously, Human.
Happening sometime after Camp Jupiter and Half-Blood Hill unite.
Percy and Annabeth are finally looking forward to peace and quiet. They've had a hard couple of years. Hard is an understatement. They look forward to kicking back, going to college, collecting a few demigods, and hanging out with their friends. But when Rachel Dare has a fainting fit and reveals a prophecy that shatters the allusion that they'll have even a sort of normal life.
Percy is yet again thrown into a quest that is going to take all of his powerful friends to accomplish. But the person he needs most will have to be left behind.
Violet didn't ask for this. She never does. It was an accident. But she knows it's not. With the threat of getting kicked out of yet another school Violet has to keep her wits with her as she tries to brave the horrors of high school her senior year. But when another "accident" results in her trashing the auditorium and meeting a dark haired green eyed boy Violet learns that her normal life has never been normal at all.
Thrust into a world she doesn't understand with powers she can't control Violet learns some truth about herself and about her parents.
Their quest takes them somewhere few have been and come back from and brings together the most powerful group of demigods the two camps have ever seen. Everyone knows their quest will be full of danger. Monsters will be everywhere they turn. If they forge ahead they may not even make it back alive. But if they don't no one will be alive. Will all their worst nightmares come true as they descend into the dark? Or will something more sinister and twisted make them wish they'd never been born?
