Most could see them as business partners, that nothing would spark between them. Some see them as normal people who'd go out as 'friends'. What people physically see about them was enough, but they actually don't have the slightest idea of the events that occur when the lights are off, or if they are off their sights. What do they do when they see each other in the middle of the bridge leading to their respective villages? What happens when no one is looking at them? What happens when they are alone with each other? What happens when they are trapped in their own world?

No one knows but them.

The 4th Great Shinobi War has ended, and Gaara is starting to wonder how the nations will maintain their fragile peace without a common enemy. He's devised a plan to go on a diplomatic tour of the shinobi world, and try to establish strong bonds with each village, and Mist Village is his first stop. Joining Gaara and his two ever loyal siblings, Temari and Kankuro, will be the Leaf Shinobi, Naruto, Shikamaru, Ino, Tenten, Hinata, Neji, and surprisingly, Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke isn't really going for the mission though, he's been persuaded to join them by Gaara's new, out of this world teacher, Shine Likstar, and her partner Wally West, and their current hero trainees, Momo, Shoto, Dabi, and now joining them, Bakugo and Camie. Along the way the group runs into Team Taka, and makes some detours, all the while trying not to drive each other insane with their crazy hijinks, culture clashes, and different ways of looking at the world. Not to mention past trauma. But things may heat up when they actually reach Mist Village and find more than they bargained for. [This story is a sort of spin off of the main story line, and picks up where my shorter retelling of the War Arc and Sasuke Retrieval Arc left off. Read that book first if you want to know how these characters know each other, it's on my profile. Otherwise if you just want to jump right in and figure it out, I respect that approach too. This should be a lot of fun. The story is a bit slower paced than the first ones were since it's styled to be more Slice of Life/Action, but they'll be ships, funny situations, and angst and drama in plenty for all of you who like a little spiciness with your friendship stories. Promises to be thought provoking and unusual, like my other stories.] Let's do this!

The story unfolds seven months after the Fourth Shinobi War, and it's Temari's first time coming to Konoha during the start of peacetime. Shikamaru is assigned to be her escort as per usual, but this time things are a little different. After their unexpected first kiss, the two shinobi start to develop feelings for one another and neither knows what to do. Temari is the princess of Sunagakure with two overprotective brothers and a nagging administrative council, and Shikamaru is simply her escort who is in training to be the next advisor of the newly appointed Sixth Hokage. Apparently, their relationship could never work... publicly, that is. Will they overcome their doubts, risk destroying their friendship, and fall in love all in utmost secrecy? Ikuto has amnesia and that was never a problem for him until his past decided to return to claim him. Kotone has a secret and that was never a problem for her until she couldn't hide it anymore. Tsukina is smarter than others her age and nobody really questioned it because prodigies are just like that. Kakashi is a child soldier and that would never change but perhaps he could start to see another path for himself if he met the right person. Trigger Warning on later chapters. What kind of warnings? This is my take on ShikaTema. Temari moves to Konoha and is trying to find her place in new city she calls home. She is encountered with many inexplicable situations. Does fate have to do anything with this or is it irrelevant? This is a romance filled with comedy. The story is set 2 years after the war and their years are unchanged (Temari is 22, Shikamaru and Konoha's twelve are 19). Neji is alive in this one.
