Lachlan Power has an amazing life, the best friends in the world, and the start to the perfect career. Nothing would ever change his plans to move to Florida, or so he thought. When his parents accept a teenage girl to come stay with them for the remainder of the school year, he finds himself torn between staying in Australia and moving to the states. The stories Amber tells Lachlan of her home in France make him shudder with anger, yet falter with guilt.
