[Before this book starts I just want to clarify that this is my first ever legit story so I'll be almost as sorry as Wheatley if it turns out bad. I also want to clarify that it contains spoilers of the real game.]

There's smut in the final chapter and sexual tension throughout. This is my first fanfic so give me lots of feedback! I don't own any of the fallout settings or characters!

That's how she was, until one fateful day, when the higher-ups at Aperture Science figured that they could get more out of their testing if two subjects were present, and so launched the "Aperture Science Co-operative Testing Initiative", pairing Subject 3281 with another Test subject. A boy. A boy who forced Subject 3281 to re-think her complacency, to yearn for freedom as they all did. To begin thinking like the girl she had been; instead of the person she had become. ~----------------------------------~ So, I was writing a short story one day, and realized that--with a bit of tweaking--this could turn into a Portal 2 fan-fic! While I do believe that Blue Sky is the BEST fan-fic for Portal 2 out there, and deserves to be canon, I think that this is still a relatively believable Chell backstory. (This is set after Cave Johnson's death, and before Caroline/GLaDOS killed everyone but the test subjects with neurotoxin, and placed Chell in stasis.) Enjoy! This is not a Chelley fan-fic, and doesn't include Wheatley, as this is set prior to the timeline of the first game. I don't own Portal, Portal 2, or the characters in the game; but this story is my own, from my imagination. I also don't own the amazing cover art, and I don't know who does... same goes for the chapter art, they're all either off of Google or Pinterest! 😂 P.S. the first chapter sort of "sets the scene" for the rest of the book, so bear with me!
