After a botched mission leaves his neck open like a guillotined monarch (don't worry, he gets better), his superior Aristotle sends him on an assignment to recover Bacon's Four Idols, powerful philosophical artifacts that when brought together could erase reality. But everybody knows that the Four Idols are only a myth...

Forced to work with a motley crew of philosophers, theorists, and the beguiling figure of Agent Sophia Wisdom, John Locke must arm himself with the most cunning paradox engines and philosophical gadgets, and race across the globe in search for the (allegedly) nonexistent artifacts while battling existential villains and their nihilistic henchmen.

Filled with espionage parody, chock full of terrible wordplay, and crammed to the brim with references to philosophers past and presently dead, You Only Think Twice is a hilarious, and hopefully thought-provoking story for enthusiasts of both spy fiction and the philosophical treatise.

He was going to start buckling her up before someone cleared their throat loudly. They both looked up to meet Reeds' blue-green eyes. ''I think I can help my wife, thank you,'' he said. Lyla's eyebrows shot up. The dude barely talked to her and he was already getting possessive? How does that even add up? Reeds stopped taking the two parts of the seat belt in his hands, ''you couldn't do this without help?'' he muttered to her savagely. Lyla glared at him, before he could even get the belt close to her she took it from his hands and snapped it in the right place. She gave him a sickly sweet smile and Reeds simply scoffed and walked to his seat. The rest of the plane ride was quiet. One would think after that small exchange they would start having some kind of conversation. Wrong. ___________________ This isn't a cliche story where the girl falls for the guy by a simply little gaze. She's stubborn, she's maybe a little relatable, and she's assertive. But she didn't think she was for him. Lyla Vell; the name itself oozed the confidence which was her, and Ryersoon Reeds? Two words to describe him: Arrogant and plain painful. And when these two personalities are in an arranged marriage. Shit about to go down. ___ This is my first Wattpad story. Hope you'll like it! This entire story is NOT mature. Only the last few chapters are and you can still finish the plot without reading those few mature chapters. And another step. Then I had a loose pipe in my field of vision. One step to the left, toward the wall of the house. I reached out slowly, the ghoul hissed and growled. And when I was about to grab the pipe, he jumped off. Immediately I rushed to the makeshift weapon, dodged the leap, and smashed the steel against the monster's jaw with full momentum. I didn't wait, jumped onto the fire escape, the pipe still in my hand, and climbed up light-footedly. At the moment when I was about to swing over the parapet, a terrible stinging in my verse caused a cry on my part. Claws dug into the flesh under my right ankle, slid between the tendons and pulled me back down with added weight.... ------------------------------- I look forward to suggestions for improvement that could add even more quality to the book ;) So criticism gladly welcome! After all, you don't want to call attention to your mistakes if you're an all-powerful being. Across 12 interconnected stories, Just Follow the Cat unravels the events that shape the life of Starling Prindle and the original mistake that started him on his search for the center of the universe. The stories are simultaneously whimsical and nihilistic. They are also poetic in an unconventional way. There are cats and shadows of cats in every story. The 12 stories are told to a woman who can't see, can't hear, and can't react. From beginning to end, her thoughts about what she hears remain a mystery. Or maybe it's more than that. Maybe it's more shrouded. More unknowable. Maybe her thoughts are a riddle surrounded by a mystery that's inside an enigma with the whole mess wrapped in bacon. Maybe. Just maybe she is like a cat who has entered her 10th life and is now content to simply listen. When I write, I try to use simple language and speak directly to the reader. My goal is to have the reader feel as if the story is being told only to them. And my hope is that reading these stories will create a casual and comfortable bond between the reader and the narrator - kind of like sitting across a table from each other, sipping morning coffee, and listening.

Getting that out of the way, let's go onto the story description... *This book contains explicit content* *EXTRACT FROM THE BOOK* I stared at him, cooking and whistling, something that I could not do, or should I say, wasn't bothered to do. I decided to move away and to try and find an exit but I didn't even take one step back when I heard his voice. "Princess? Is that you?" I saw him raise his head before shooting his eyes onto me. The sudden gaze caused to heart to race while it froze my body as if I have turned into ice. I felt the fear engulf my body, eating me inside out. "You aren't scared of me... Are you?" he asked me, I sensed the envy in his voice. That mixed with his harsh tone caused a wave of goosebumps to course through my body. I wanted to begin by asking him where was I? Why was I here? Why was he here... I wanted to ask him, but I couldn't, the fear was just all too much for me. "Come on... Speak to me... Ask me..." he began. "Ask me 'why am I here' and all of that crap... Entertain me with your fear." I saw him slowly gripping a knife that was on the countertop, with his eyes still on mine. The sides of his mouth slowly began tilting upwards. All the bitterness and the cold, it was all so visible in his eyes. I looked at him in horror, noticing him as he took his first steps towards me. "Talk to me... Because this might be the only time you will ever be able to talk, " he said this sentence in such a calm tone, it caused me once again to shiver with goosebumps. "W-what do you mean...". Never in my life have I stuttered, until then.
