A dystopian story about a girl who saves the world by risking her life with a guy she just met to destroy an amulet that controls a robot army. Here is the first pharagraph :
It's a dark and rainy morning . I run as fast as I can non-stop.There's no place to hide from them . My lungs burn as I suck in a breath of the cold and frigid morning air around me . Running as fast as I can, almost out of breath I look for something . Anything I could use to escape them . As I run in my drenched sweatshirt , muddy grey tee , faded black skinny jeans and dirt covered converse I hold my people's only hope. A bright , glowing , ruby amulet . I round a corner down the dark alleyway and come to an abrupt halt . It's a dead end . I realize I'm trapped and do the only thing I can think of . I chuck the beautiful heart shaped amulet with the key as far as I can over the electric fence of the army base . Let's see how the government fends without the control of their precious army . They may have caught me but my people will still have Hope . Then the robots swarm in on me and I'm injected with something . It makes me feel nauseous and a bit woozy . My whole body goes numb and then I'm knocked out .

As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life. I realised the zombie i was facing, was Rose...Complete

They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. They tugged and poked and even shoved their disgusting finger in your wound, just to see you cry. To see you change. No pitty in their eyes. They just continue. They drag you around with metal chains, hit you and turn you into a experiment. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. They turned me into something, that neither do they know what I am. Their afraid of me, of my reflexes, my strength. I killed a lot of them. They say I have a cold heart, that I don't feel nothing. She went back completely wasted and needed a place to stay for the night since her dad was on her ass about getting drunk so she stays with him. I hope you like the book, there is going to a mild amount of swearing and lots of drinking and smoking. Everything is made up beside the state they live in.
