Story: While stopped in traffic on a busy north Chicago street, a woman sees two men in pursuit of a third. They disappear down a side street and traffic resume. Someone interviews various other witness in the neighborhood and a Roshomon-like mystery romance emerges. IMPROV WRITING GAMES: (FIRST OF AN SERIES) Game 1: “Traffic Incident”:writers/playes: Eleanor Spiess-Ferris and Umberto Tosi GAME DESCRIPTION: (Try it yourself with one or two other writers. It's fun!) 1, One player describes an incident witnessed that day. 2. Second player picks up from there, beginning a narrative. 3. First player picks up where the second left off, moving the narrative forward. 4. Second player, in turn, picks up from there, and so forth, until an ending is reached. RULES: 1. Improvised segments must be at least 300 and no more than 1200 words. 2. Writers must improvise each segment on their own. 3. Writers may take the story in any direction and introduce characters at will. 4. Each segment must move the narrative forward in some way. 5.
