Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs has seen some very messed up cases in his long career at NCIS, but nothing like the case he and his team are about to encounter. When a Navy researcher and his wife are found murdered in their home, the team uncovers the Eveiveneg Project. With the military offering no answers the only place they can get the information they need to solve this murder is from the researcher's adopted daughter Genevieve. But due to the things she's suffered in her past, all of the suspicions are on her. Even the Director feels that she is the guilty party. But Gibbs has one of his famous gut feelings that she is innocent, and that there is more to the story and this mysterious project.
Can Gibbs get the real story before they put away the wrong person? And will Genevieve's past play a critical role in these murders? Or is Gibbs fighting for and defending the wrong person?
