Amber and Serena, rogue cousins born with wings, join a wild cat clan called Thunderclan. Amber has been having dreams of a white cat with orange and light blue splotches, and believes she lives in Thunderclan. She finds the cat along with three other cats with wings and she is happy that Serena and herself aren't the only cats with wings.
After a few days of being in Thunderclan, Amber figures out that Serena has a supernatural power to hear one's heartbeat. Eventually, two more winged cats join Thunderclan, and inform Amber and Serena and the others about their powers. Starclan has told them to go on a journey to stop a darkness that will destroy the clans, and as Amber and her friends journey on to fulfill their destiny, they find out about their past and how they got their wings and powers, but what they find is terrifying...
