I flipped to the next page.

'Werewolves, also known as lycanthropes, are legendary shape-shifting humans. As the name suggests, the shape these creatures take on is that of a wolf. The history of the werewolf legend has sprung up independently or spread to virtually every area of the Earth. It is also one of the oldest legends of human monsters in recorded history. Where the legend originated can only be guessed by what humans have taken care to record. Their other name, lycanthrope, may also be a hint at the origin of this myth.'

Pausing, I look back up at my friend who was busy curling a piece of her brown hair around her index finger while looking out of the shop's large bay window.

Is she insane? Is the rest of this town insane?

Noticing my stare, Sangria turns to me and drops her hand back to her lap.

"Well, did you read it? All of it?", she says, eyes wide.

Shaking my head, "No, not all of it."

"You need to read all of it. This town has a complicated history and an even more complicated destiny. You won't understand until you read all of it."

Grabbing me by my wrist, Sangria pulls me towards the entrance we first came through but not before stopping quick at the register to pay for the big book. Before I even have time to look around more, She already has me out the door.

But one thing still bothers me. What's so special about this town? what's so different about it?

And most of all, Why does no one dare enter the woods?

(Please read Theron 1 before moving on to this book) A stranger washes ashore on a deserted beach. With no memory of who or what he is, the only clue he has to his identity--the only thing he recalls from his past life--is a single, solitary name: Lina. But on a planet with over seven billion inhabitants, his only chance of finding her rests solely within the hands of Fate itself... and the help of a sassy, young street rat. A child's life hangs in the balance--a child whose blood is so unique it has the power to change the course of the future for one group of supernaturals in particular... and this group doesn't howl at the moon. For Lina and the other Ancients, a new war is brewing and in a very literal sense. This battle will not be fought with bullets and teeth like the massacre at Superlunar, but rather with magic and wit and maybe a little divine intervention. So, how do you fight an evil you can't touch? How do you stop a weapon you can't see? And how to you protect the ones you have no memory of loving? Easy! You have to remember what you don't know you knew... You have to remember who you are... You just have to remember. ⚠️ This story is marked "Mature" for a reason. There will be violence, strong language and sexual content. I will not write a warning for these chapters as it is already labeled for a mature audience. Hope is an amazing construct. Even at the worst times where hope seems to be lost, there's still a shimmer, a crack of light that paves the way for hope. The hope that maybe, just maybe we will fight our demons, and even win. Or the hope that we will evolve to something greater, or the hope that the world doesn't see us as monsters who we really are. The hope that we are free even if we are not. It's hope holding us together, keeping us tethered to our real selves. I want to say that this is a story about hope, but maybe it isn't or it's something more than that. In the near future in a fictional world, sort of real to the world we are in. We are drawn to the city of Vomir. A city drawn to darkness lurking by the very edges of it. But not the mob darkness the real darkness, the type of darkness that can fracture the world. Behind all of it stands Alphacorp. An organization hell bent, knee deep grinding to know and manipulate creatures DNA, and morphology. In their research they discover the Lycans. Yes those Lycans, the ones we know as a myth. This discovery changes everything from the identity of the company to its core morality. Lycans are caught in more of a battle against them. Everything changes from mind control, behavioural constraints, death manipulation, immoral experiments, all rolled up under the foundational bones of this company. No one in Vomir, humans, Lycans or survivors live in free will anymore. All hope seems to be lost. But yes even at the darkest times, the darkest rooms still a small shimmer of light, will find a way in the room, which at the end turn the whole room bright, illuminating even the outside. Welcome to my world, this story has been inspired by different aspects of life for not more than a decade now. This is the first of many hopefully.

"I want you." With a touch as light as a feather, Cillian hooked a thick finger under her chin to get a better look at her face. "Look at me." Slowly, her eyes cracked open, but she didn't dare meet his eyes. His grip tightened ever so slightly, a warning. Her breath caught in her throat when she looked at him- I mean, really looked at him. His golden eyes were as direct, not even blinking as much as the average person. They glistened in the moonlight that peeked through the blinds, bringing an inhuman shine to them. A satisfied smile stretched across his lips until his prominent canines made an appearance. A finger tugged on the collar of her shirt and dragged it down- just enough to reveal the mark that was imprinted forever on her delicate neck. "Do remember what this means?" It was this speech, this deep, heavy voice of his that immediately set him apart from everyone else. No longer able to hold his gaze, her eyes fell and she shook her head. His hand caught somewhere behind her neck and base of her jaw to tilt her head back so her eyes met his. "I think you do." He persisted. His other hand came up to lightly brush the hair back away from her face. "What are we, hmm?" His fingers trailed down the curves of her body until they settled on her hips to gently tug her closer, pulling a sharp inhale from her. With their bodies pressed together, hearts racing in sync, and butterflies fluttering in both of their stomachs, she peeked up at him once more. A shudder shot down her spine as he leaned in to nuzzle her neck, his hot breath fanning against the mark. "C'mon, say it." He breathily taunted. With a shaky breath, she whispered, "we're mates." - ranks - #1 new story #1 wolf # 2 alpha
