Kirsten Anderson is a rookie police officer who is trying to solve an impossibly difficult case.  Mysterious murders have been occurring steadily for months, but there is something unusual about them which no one can quite sort out.  Taking it upon herself to get to the bottom of the case, Kirsty receives help from her crazy neighbor, Fletcher Ellis, and begins to work out the mysteries.

However, when Kirsty tries to investigate  further, the unthinkable happens and the closest thing to her heart is taken from her.  Now she must enlist the help of an unlikely collection of peers, some willing and some not, to find the supernatural criminals and take back what was stolen.
