Primsharah will become the center of a deadly play, with the powers of the gods themselves at stake ... *** Refusing to watch his family crumble beneath the weight of poverty, Arran has resorted to stealing from the rich to provide for his mother and sister. His ability to bend light prevents him from being caught ... until one day, he is. His captors have no intention of turning him in, though, instead making him an offer that he cannot resist, but which will change the course of his future forever. Meanwhile, Princess Serafina, heir to the throne of Primsharah, welcomes an unusual suitor in the royal palace. This stranger brings a dangerous gift for her father: the Sphere of Truths, one of the ten World Artifacts, created by the gods themselves. As the Shah sinks deeper into his obsession with the Sphere, Inna starts experiencing visions about a thief stealing another Artifact, the Amulet of Doom. A deathly curse is bound to the Amulet, and its theft will set in motion a series of events which might destroy Primsharah for good ... and the world along with it. Together, Arran and Inna flee across the desert to find out who is stealing the Artifacts and why. But Arran's time is limited as the curse flows through his veins, with no hope for salvation save for the stubborn princess who is determined to see his survival. Magic, desert and creatures of myth weave a tale of fragile hope, large-scale betrayal and fierce friendship between two people whose fates should never have crossed paths at all.

I stood with my back to her, shielding her, and my murderous eyes stared down at the poor excuse of a man, promising unimaginable pain if he dared to move or even flinch. The enormity of control it took me to suppress the impulse to eradicate the piece of scum, who dared to even think about laying a hand on a woman, was inconceivable. My whole body was trembling with rage. The guy was intimidated by the fury in my eyes and stumbled back to his intoxicated friends who were too dazed to understand the situation. I was disappointed and relieved at the same time that the chaos didn't end in a fist fight. When I turned around to console her, she was gone. And as I looked around, I saw her back just leaving the bar through the entrance. I hurried out to follow her. She walked ahead of me aimlessly and disoriented like a wounded animal that had just escaped the claws of death. My heart ached for her. I found a kindred soul in her. She evidently had been wounded in the past. Just like me. But in an even worse way than I had been hurt, and it angered me, that someone had dared to harm her. *** Eden Marie Simmons is still recovering after escaping an abusive relationship when she meets Keane, the broody and enigmatic neighbor who is shrouded in mystery. Both are still being haunted by their past and are not ready for a new commitment, but when fate repeatedly puts them in each other's paths, they can't deny their attraction for each other. Life challenges them both with secrets, lies, and broken trusts, and confronts them with their pasts. They both must learn to be brave enough to love again. *** Story is previously called "Paradise Lies"

Her thoughts were broken when she felt the presence of someone behind her. The presence felt dominating and powerful, like she had never felt before. "Castilla." She dared to turn to find Jax standing by entrace of the Castle balcony. "Jax?" Something seemed different about him. She could sense powerful magic that wasn't dark but frightening. His eyes were now a swirl of fire. The embers had become a storm of chaotic fire. His features had more of his true inhuman form. Horns of black curved sharply on top of his head. Something he didn't have before. "Did your heart ache for me? While I was gone?" He teased Castilla. "Why would it?" A smirk formed across his lips. "The way you were staring into the night as you were longing for something or someone. Thane perhaps?" Castilla's face did not change expression as he had hoped. She walked over to him. Looking into his eyes, she spoke. "That night before we left town, I knew it was you from the very first moment your lips captured mine. " She smiled at the shock that appeared on his face momentarily. A world filled with conquest, drama, betrayal, bloodshed, supernatural, kings, queens, mages, and a thirst for power.
