Josephine (Joey) Blackburn was a normal 26 year old. She was on her way to becoming a surgeon, but all that is turned around when she starts to become hunted by an ghost. 

Years earlier her parents had been in the same predicament. That is how she met John Winchester. When she goes to contact him she finds out that he is dead, and her only hope is his two sons Sam and Dean Winchester. 

While the haunting goes on she knows that hunting is her true calling so she sets out with the Winchesters and Castiel (for a little while).
