Elizabeth Laversi, or Ellie as she calls herself, has nothing left to live for. After the loss of her brother and mother, the only person she has left is her father. When she is told of his recent diagnosis of Pancreatic cancer and that he only has six months to live, her world falls apart. She can't go on without her father. She can't do it again. So she does the only thing that seems to be an option. She tries to kill herself. But if it was that easy, there wouldn't be a story. She is rescued by a strange man who refuses to let her end it all, even if she is a stranger. She doesn't know however, that this man is Niall Horan, a world famous pop star. Niall finds Ellie to be intriguing and wants to get to know her better, but when word gets out of Niall's heroic deed, things become a lot more complicated then expected.
