When Jake runs away from home he wasn't expecting this. After he runs into the forest surrounding his house he gets stuck in goo. While trying to get out, a bird smacks him in the face.
He wakes up in a new place, a mystical forest. Everything is unusual and beautiful, but the most beautiful of all is the big birdcage.
