Soon to be 12 year old Aella Skyewood is a well know Aether being. Probably because she's some how related to the royal family and all. It hasn't been a pretty exciting life for her for the past 11 years, but she soon hopes that on the day she turns 12, she'll finally get to visit the End. Unfortunately all that went down the drain the day a Nether being shows up right before her birthday. And let's just say Nether brings are outlawed and enemies in the Aether. And let's also say she seems to be one of the kindest, until Aella's special occasion. Before Aella knows what hit her, she's fallen out of the Aether and is stuck in the Overworld. During that period she learns a few more strange things about her past, about her future, and about some new powers that get activated when she turned 12.

Every person in this world also has an 'Inheritance' (although in universe they are simply called 'things') which is a curse or ability they gain at birth. These are generally useless, or even hindrances. (examples include addiction to eating rocks, or waking up with a different number of eyes after a long rest.) The Party: Cordelia 'Cordy' Irvine: A child half-elf who joined the party after they failed to protect her caretaker on an escort mission. With no home to return to, Cordelia (already used to being somewhat of a feral child) travels with the group, as she begins to learn more about her mysterious and absent mother, and her own unique abilities. Oakley: An elf who was raised in the fey wilds. He finds the smallest of things interesting. Which, of course, leads him straight to Lucy, the social outcast. One thing leads to another, and soon, Natsu is teaching this strange girl the world of magic. They become friends rather quickly, and her unexpected actions never ceases to calm his storm of a day. Natsu realizes his feelings for her, but isn't sure how to convey them. Will he manage to get through her thick-headed personality, or will he be forever considered "just a friend"? As the characters go through their own social problems, other problems start to arise. Magic manipulation, and an old alumni threaten them as Lucy attempts to recover from her past.
