Moving to L.A. from the Hamptons after the death of her mother, Lyric Jones otherwise known as Ricky, is a whole new person. Instead of open and outgoing, she's distant and closed of.

She used to do all sorts of things to make her parents proud. Things like singing in the school choir, being on the schools champion soccer team, becoming a mathlete, and she even used to paint a bit just like mom. But ever since she found out that the most important person in her life only had a limited time left to be with her, her whole life went from positive to negative within a few seconds.

Now she just sticks to her books, her sleek iPhone that has all her music and pictures, and keeping up the new image of being an unapproachable bad ass.

Her father, deciding that they need a change in scenery, packed everything up and shipped them out for a move across country.

She doesn't understand the logic behind the move considering she was already through half of her senior year in high school and doesn't feel like starting over.

So her simple steps to surviving people are:
1. Get a job so she can make money and move away.
2. Finish her last year in high school without complications.
3. Don't get involved with anyone. Especially if it's a guy.
Because let's face it, they're drama. And seriously though, what guy in their right mind would approach her, so number 3 should be an easy one to follow....

Plus, we all know her ending will never be a happy one.

*Authors Note: Hi, this is my very first story I'm trying to put out and I would really like any and all feed back. This book has mild language and a few kissing scenes...please just give my little story a chance. Thank you!*
