The Alpha Kings selection

In the wearwolf world a mate a solution to everything. Wealth, money, fame, power you name it. To rule the kingdom fairly there is 1 king to rulebeside him a sutible queen. who has packs under them an ruled by alphas and packs under them. the only wearwolves that arent in a pack are rogues and trinans. Trinans are wearwolves that are mateless.

At the age of 16 you go through heating which makes you go through the process of being a wearwolf and relishing more power. If by the age of 18 your mateless there is no hope for you but to be trinan or to go the selection which is rare. since it only happens every 20 years .but what happens when the king is ready to pass down to his only heir but he is mateless so he must go to the selection
