One year in middle school, a girl named Bea and a boy named Lucas became friends. But one day in 8th grade Bea's mother did a terrible thing and her family suffered the consequences for her actions. Her mother's actions lead Bea's father down a path that Bea did not want to suffer for, so she ran away hoping never to return.
Twenty years later, Bea's ex friend Lucas, wanders on to her.
Next thing, to Bea's surprise, old wounds are being reopened and her secrets of the past come tumbling into her possible future.
