"oh c'mon Kye, it's gonna be amazing! we'll be 17 and so close to being on our own and getting out of this shit hole town.." she says, wrapping her hand gently around his in a comforting way.
"yeah, I'm excited. don't get me wrong. I just don't want to lose you." he chuckles, trying to make the atmosphere lighter by making a joke at himself as he squeezes her other hand gently.
"I'll always be with you Kyle, always, I promise." she adds, resting her head on his shoulder and looking at their feet in the dim street lights.

Kyle and Breannan have been best friends since the day they were born, with their 17th birthdays having been on June 21st, Breannan has been given the opportunity to move out to California to help with her YouTube career more, which causes Kyle to make choices he was scared to make to keep her in his life.
