Sara Hale runs away from her home in the city and manages to find her way to the small, quiet town of Hawk Point, but when a monster attacks Sara, she realizes that Hawk Point may not be a sleepy town in the middle of nowhere after all. Intrigued by the amount of anomalies that suddenly seem to appear before her very eyes, she begins to investigate.
Then she meets Joe Klinsey, a young monster hunter who lives with his crazy father in an old house in the woods. He takes her into a world she never knew existed, but once someone enters that world, they never leave.
