Her parents were criminals and she was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at age 8 because she was hearing voices that told her to do bad things. When her parents went to Jail, she was sent to Mortality, a city 8 hours away from her home, where she was put in a mental Asylum after she tried to murder several people because "The Voices Told Her To."
