(Malec AU) Alec is so close to freedom, to escaping the darkness that threatens to swallow him at home. His original plan was to leave as soon as possible, but the need to protect his loved ones and a small, stray cat kept him stuck in his little hell. However, he was beginning to wear thin and was finally ready to disappear when he met Magnus, who showed him that all he really wanted was to be found. Magnus, still only a teenager himself, lives alone in his Brooklyn loft. Everything about him is mysterious and Alec is the only who can save him from his secrets.
