After surviving years of medical school, Patrick Stump has finally graduated and has been accepted into the residency program at Chicago Grace Hospital. Although he tries to escape his past family problems, they slowly come creeping back as word spreads that the son of a famous surgeon works in that hospital. It's not long before all the attention goes to him, professionally and perhaps romantically. Will the pressure of saving lives get to him, or will he push through? [Peterick fic based off of the medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy'.]

His life is like a car crash. It seems to play in slow motion, and it's hard to believe that it's happening right in front of you. It's captivating, and you know you shouldn't stare, but as soon as your eyes are gone, it's like the carnage disappears. Everything is natural, and you wonder if you just imagined the whole thing. A lawyer's life isn't meant to be dramatic. Especially when his specialty is writing wills and prepping your impending death. But Patrick Stumph doesn't think he has much more to offer. He is just awaiting the day his will comes in handy. He spends his day in a law office. He paints to escape. He slashes his skin to hate. The day Pete Wentz literally jumps into his life, his car comes screeching to a halt. The young hairdresser shows the lawyer that maybe there is something worth living for, as long as he stops until the light is green. (Trigger warnings.
