The idea of being sent to a 'straight camp' for the entire summer sounded absurd. Nothing about it made the slightest bit of sense to me. And it looked like any other summer camp; a bunch of uncomfortable-looking teenagers standing with one or both of their parents, people I assumed were in charge talking to them. My parents wouldn't let me say anything as they willingly handed over my information to the stranger in a blue shirt. They promised me I would thank them, told me I would be grateful once the summer was over.
