Sebastian/Jonathan has captured the downworlder representatives Magnus, Luke, Raphael, and her mother Jocelyn Golding them using them as a bargaining chip, he wants clary his sister and jace his adoptive brother, clary knowing his true desire is to have Clary by his side, She knows sacrificing herself by giving herself to him will enable the safety of her mother and friends and stop the war, she secretively reaches out to Sebastian and gives her self to him, him angry that she hadn't token his offer the first time, kidnaps her and takes her away from everyone she loves and makes her his prisoner. The punishment was that she would lose all her memories of the Shadow World, of her family and friends, but most of all, of her Jace.
