Millicent Cerberus, a 19 year old girl who live's in a mental hospital after murdering her parents at 14 and believing in spirits and trying to reach out to them.

It says that she skinned her parents when they were asleep. Millicent says it wasn't her. She doesn't belive it was someone else, she belives it was someting else.

She sometimes sees her parents, she says. Her mom Isolde, and her dad Mortimer, weren't your ordinary kind of parents, they believed in spirits. And that made Millicent belive in them too. 
 
What happens when Millicent meets Nathan. A 22 year old guy, who starts working at the mental hospital?

Will she fall in love with him, or will she hate him more than anything on this planet?

She was born with a rare form of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and was unable to feel physical pain, so she never complained about something as simple as a paper cut or a stubbed toe since her brain didn't register it. She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder. Needless to say she had more prescriptions than she chose to mention to anyone except for the people that already knew, and even then, she didn't talk about her mental illnesses, which her friends understood and complied with. After her mother left her, Katherine and George Walter took her in, having basically watched her grow up since Katherine and Lauren had known each other for as long as anyone remembered...until she up and left her only daughter behind that is. Nicolette moved in with them when she was nine and was practically raised alongside the Walter kids, as well as the Garcia boys when they moved in as well. She'd managed to get her life, and her mental illnesses, in order just when things in her life changed once more. Alex just left Nigel with only leaving a message on a note, telling him he probably comes back - only if possible. Obviously this is a hit in the face for Nigel. The first few months are terrible, and it only gets worse as he gets no word from Alex. No sign of him that could possibly give him some strength to go on. After more months, he loses his hope, killing everyone around as if that would make anything better. Nigel gets locked up in an asylum, declared for mentally unstable: charged for many, many murders. And since he doesn't ages, they keep him for experiments. Since they are very religious in there, they believe it's the Devil his son. After eight years, somehow Nigel keeps seeing this blonde-reddish boy visiting him. He tells him stories, being all cheeky and forces him to wait. The doctors around are trying anything to get that boy out of Nigel his mind, and when they don't succeed, they decide to use electroshock therapy for that. As Nigel threats to lose Alex, the connection between the two fades a lot. Alex has barely enough strength to stay around, and gets forced to find a body before he disappears forever. Strangely enough a patient passes by during Nigel his therapy. A suspicious girl that always wants to know everything that's going around. Since she is the only weak person of them all in a near distance, Alex gets into her body - being forced to share it with another soul. As soon as Nigel realizes that the girl isn't just somebody, and they can't get away from each other, there's only one option left. But what will happen? Will Alex get his body back?
