Millicent Cerberus, a 19 year old girl who live's in a mental hospital after murdering her parents at 14 and believing in spirits and trying to reach out to them.
It says that she skinned her parents when they were asleep. Millicent says it wasn't her. She doesn't belive it was someone else, she belives it was someting else.
She sometimes sees her parents, she says. Her mom Isolde, and her dad Mortimer, weren't your ordinary kind of parents, they believed in spirits. And that made Millicent belive in them too.
What happens when Millicent meets Nathan. A 22 year old guy, who starts working at the mental hospital?
Will she fall in love with him, or will she hate him more than anything on this planet?

She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder. Needless to say she had more prescriptions than she chose to mention to anyone except for the people that already knew, and even then, she didn't talk about her mental illnesses, which her friends understood and complied with.
