Bargains, Bets, and Blackmail

Ever since know-it-all Serena Matthews started elementary school, she's known she was different from the other kids. She liked to read, looked forward to homework, and loved going to school each day. That wasn't enough to deserve to be bullied though, was it?

Apparently it was. Just as long as Serena has known she was different Paul Archer, asshole extraordinaire, has known this too. Over the years, he has set out to humiliate her in every conceivable way possible. But he has his reasons...or maybe he just really, really hates Serena.

But all that's just fine by Serena, who hates him back just as fervently. She has learned over the years to ignore Archer and his petty insults.

And it seems to work for the both of them, until one day during their junior year when an argument over who's smarter arises. And suddenly they have a bet, a trivia contest with one dangerous price: the winner will become the loser's master, ordering them around in whatever way they desire, for the next five weeks.
