My mother named me Karma.

She said I was living proof that what goes around truly did come back around: that I symbolised all that was right in a world of wrong. But in this last year I've grown to hate my name. Not because of my mother but because of what my name now stands for.

The past.

And that's something I'd rather not invest in.

But lately, things I'd rather forget are returning to me.
Sounds, names, faces, people.

And it seems that the meaning of my name is catching up on me.

Everything changed when they came out of hiding, terror spread across the world as people began to question if our presidents and our global leaders lied to us and weren't from the same race. The Beasts blended in amongst us as if we were the same, except humans didn't have the same predatory instincts and we couldn't change our forms like they could. Soon after we learnt that we weren't the only species people began going missing. Some were unlucky and taken as something that the Beasts called a Mate that one word made fear spread throughout my veins, I would rather sell my soul than have one of them mutts chain me to them. Six months went by before the government, that was un-tainted by this vile race began to take action into their own hands contacting other countries and militaries causing the great war to happen, sending both my parents off to fight for our rights. Only one of them came back, two months was the longest we lasted before we were overpowered by them. Six years of living in this dysfunctional environment and my hatred had never dwindled. Some people still believed in god and had faith in him, I didn't know what I believed in but I prayed like everyone else that I would get through another day without hearing the soul crushing word 'Mate'. Until I Find My Star by Jenikim7
28 parts Ongoing Mature
I limped towards the kitchen after sending him an email, that I'm on leave today. I couldn't even able to walk properly as I was feeling sore down there, just thinking about what happened yesterday was enough to make me trembling down with fear. He was rough, way too rough. He didn't even mind that I was on my 5th day of my menstrual period. For him it's all about him and his needs. He will never change. My lips wobbled as I cleared my tears as it started to flow down. Entering the kitchen, I took the glass of water gulping it down furiously to calm my racing heartbeat. I took another and another as my throat was itching and hurting with all that screaming. I gasped while keeping the glass in the sink. I won't be going to office today not after his brutality. I don't have enough strength to face him. I just can't... He's an animal and I don't think I can even stay in the same room as him even though he had done this so many times, yesterday he went too far. He crossed his limits and I don't want to see his face. I just hate him so much. As I stood holding the sink, a thought crossed my mind, why life is so cruel to me? What did I do to receive these? Why did I ended up with him? I just want to live normally. I sighed brushing my open hair, thinking about my miserable life. I shook my head, tying my hair in a bun. I turned around to leave the kitchen only to get startled by him. Him? My eyes widened at the realisation as gasped left my mouth in horror at the sight of him. What? He's here. It means... he never left. And the worst part is he's also looking at me with that look on his face. Lust filled eyes. Will he ever leave me alone? ------------------------- ⚠️WARNING: IT CONTAINS ABUSIVE DARK ROMANCE AND FORCED MATURED CONTENT. -------------------------- Highest Rankings:- #1 Random - 26/10/2023 #2 Zaddy- 5/01/2024 #2 Badboy - 26/02/2024 #4 Indian - 26/02/2024 #5 Obsessed - 16/02/2024 DO NOT COPY MY WORK PLEASE!
The Karma Project by knikole_
50 parts Complete Mature
Today I want to die. Not because of anything in particular or specific, but just because the utter thought of ceasing to exist sounds devastatingly euphoric. To make the noise stop. To stop this stabbing pain in the lowest pit of my stomach that's causing a burning sensation that crawls all over my skin, making me want to peel it off. To stop the guilt that festers every time I take a breath-- an oxygen thief. To stop the constant urge to detonate over anything and everything that dares to love me because in all-- I could never deserve such an honor. Today I want to die. For the longest time, I thought I was just unlucky. That sometimes life doesn't work out for everyone, and for people like me; things just never get better. I had settled into the life of being unlucky, reveled in it, and found comfort in knowing that no matter what; I would just be categorically unlucky. That was until I realized luck had nothing to do with it. It's karma. It's the idea of what goes around comes around, and what goes up must come down. Didn't some philosopher speak to that once? However, it isn't my karma. Well it wasn't at first-- somewhere down the line after all my wrongdoing I'm sure it has switched to mine. But I am the poor soul stuck with my father's karmic retaliation. The karma that he deserves has been thrown against me as some sort of sick cosmic joke-- I'm sure he'd actually celebrate and feast on the fact that once again, he still gets to hurt me even from his grave. Too bad I killed him before he had the chance to see. *Book One in the Karma Duet. Book Two is now in progress, titled: The Karma Study*

They say, 'Karma is a bitch', you can't hide from it, you can't run from it. You only get to sit back and wait for it to catch up with you. Well, some of us aren't even privileged to sit back and wait, because my sins of the past reflects every moment of my present, my life is merely a consequence of my wrongs. Redemption I seek, but there is still a price I ought to pay. The question is, will I ever be free of my past.
