It was nothing special. Just a leather bound notebook with a few lined pages. Just a cheap last minute Christmas gift given without much thought by some lousy relative. Just a book.
But that was before a certain teenager sorted through his drawers for the first time in forever, uncovering the object two years later after receiving it. Before he began scrawling seemingly meaningless words across the beige pages, simple descriptions of everyday events. Before he met someone who would completely change his life, or rather, show him that life is worth living.
