Violet Winters walked through life on staffs adorned in music notes, half-beats, and quarter rests. She counted her steps like that of a conductor’s rhythm, and always was on the beat. She practically lived in the music room, her fingers running along her violin finger board and skimming across pianos as if she could not live without them.
Getting into one of the most prestigious performing arts schools, Harrison High School of the Arts, is not easy, but Violet manages to get through the audition and make it in. Yet, the scariest part is not the audition, but what happens after the audition. Staying in Harrison is much harder than it seems, especially with the stiff competition ahead, who are set to bring Violet to the bottom.

Ever so slowly, I lowered my mouth to the lime. As I did so, I felt the brush of her lips on mine.
Just a touch. Just a breath, and it ignited fire in my veins.
And at that moment, I forgot a lot. My heart stopped, my breathing quit, my thoughts ceased.
But I knew one thing, and it was screaming in the hollows of my brain.
