Alana has been waiting for this day her whole life - the day she will find out what Skill type she is. Along with every other sixteen year old in her kingdom, today is the day she will be sorted into the Group that will determine her future and all of this is dependent on whatever power lies dormant within her. Today, she will finally know what she can do.

But by a peculiar twist of fate, she finds herself ripped from the safe world she called home. Thrown into a murky world of grit and fighting, she hates the rare Skill that so many others would call a blessing. In a place where any weakness is punished and only the strongest of the strong survive, Alana wishes she was anywhere but in the Attacker training compound.

But in a world of unfeeling, she discovers her soul mate - something she certainly wasn't anticipating. But how can two people be so different and destined for one another? Having to choose between the life she had always wanted and the boy without whom she would never feel complete, Alana finds herself torn in an internal war much more damaging that the ones that rage outside of her.
