14 year old Filipino girl Ashley has moved to Minnesota. She meets new friends and blah blah blah. Her life is pretty normal until a new virus has been found in China, making people go mad and start attacking each other. England then mentions the word "zombie" in the news. This virus leads to the military killing citizens in Vietnam and China. What happens when the virus reaches America and turns Ashley's life upside down.

They will have to test their extents of their friendship and when they meet and join once again, their final aim evolves from just 'surviving', to finding a cure. But in the end they're still just a group of immature teenagers with a fitting immature sense of humor. This is quite a light hearted story with a few dark moments.

Merle was in jail for two years and by the time Merle got out, Kata was four and they left their grandfather's place after Daryl learned the dark secret that hurt his daughter.
