Not That Far

Change is hard at the best of times. At the worst of times? Change is an agonizing, insurmountable obstacle in the monotony of everyday life. Fifteen-year-old Heida feels just this way about the changes that essentially turn her life upside down. Of course, Heida doesn't want change. She is completely content with the ordinary life that has always existed in her home, the Orphanage. Especially with her twin, and best friend, Nissa at her side. But Heida quickly learns that nothing can be done to mend the fragments of her old life back together. With determination, Heida must use these fragments to create a spectacular, new future for herself.
Though just when she thinks she is on her way to creating her future, the pieces of Heida's life are broken again. Perseverance, and a little bit of hope, keep her going, however. Through all difficulties, tenacity keeps any aspirations from being that far.
