   Alexandris is having a hard time dealing with the loss of her father three years ago, left alone striving with only her brother and his dog Maxi. Two orphans left alone on the streets of Paris in 1947. Now sixteen World War II breaks out, leaving her, Thomas, and Maxi to survive, but when Thomas gets drafted into the Army, she is left alone, as chaos unravels itself around her.
