Jennifer Wade is a teenager who's drug addicted mother dies when she is 14 and she is to live with her Uncle Ford in his one bedroom apartment in San Francisco, California. After he decides they should move into a bigger home, he finds the perfect home for an amazing price in an almost abandoned town called Bearmouth, Montana. After living there for a month, Jennifer's life is in the turn for the worst.

When Allison was 7 her mom found out that her husband was cheating on he with another guy. 3 weeks later Allison found her on the bathroom floor dead. She committed suicide. Well that's what shes been told. Eventually her soon to be stepdad moved in. After the death Allison would not talk to anybody. She was not paying attention at school and would just sit in the corner of the classroom by herself. On top of that her dad started to abuse her daily.
