Summery: Annalise, finds herself in a world different from her own; at a very young age. A place where everyone is the 'same' though some rich and some poor. A place where ladies have to act a certain way. A place called London. Mr and Mrs Kingsley finds her alone in the middle of the street; they try to find someone who will claim her. But no one does. So they take her in. Growing up with the Kingsleys, she befriends their daughter Alice. Alice tells her of her dreams; all the different ways there and so many impossible things become possible.
