Life was never easy for someone with not the highest self-esteem but she kept going either way never letting anything or anyone get to her, but that didn’t always work for Sydney. She may have never cared what others had said about her either in a negative or positive way, she didn’t take constructive criticism or compliments into consideration. Until one day when everything got to heavy, she couldn’t handle any of it anymore. Sydney’s world had come crashing down right in front of her and that’s when reality showed its true self to her.

That’s when hockey took its toll in Sydney’s life.

Skating is truly a blessing sent from above. The way the wind wisps around you blowing your hair back, whistling right past your ears making you feel as if the entire world has muted, paused, and pushed to the side. Everything has been focused on this one moment that lets you escape reality for the time being.

Adding a bonus to skating was hockey. Hockey was everything to her. Hockey had been in her family for many generations and it had been passed down to from her father to her and her three brothers.

Hockey is life. Nothing else mattered.

Sydney never let herself get close to others and usually ended up regretting it if she ever did. She had very few friends but that didn’t matter to her. She loved very few people in her life and wasn’t planning on adding more to the list anytime soon.

She never expected anything unusual or out of the ordinary to happen to her then her everyday life, but that would never keep up, right?

Sydney Stockly was about to be cracked out of her shell weather she liked it or not.

Sam Miller is not your average athlete for she is tall, strong & powerful not mention very tough, smart, vocal, driven, and extremely headstrong, and one might say that she had everything that one would need to be able to play her sport at the next level. Oh did we mention that she is the only girl on the Northfield High boys hockey team? Sam's life is going just the way she wanted it too before it was announced that the school was forming a girls hockey team, and that Sam was going to be the face of this new team which causes a sense of excitement to everyone except Sam. As much as she hates the idea of a girls hockey team, she agrees to be a part of the team, mostly so that she can fulfill her own selfish desires and pursue her personal goals even if it means giving up other parts of her life that once meant something to Sam like her faith, rather then care about the goals of the team. But all that changes when Sam meets Holley, a shy & awkward nerd, who also happens to be an elite hockey player, and AJ- a mysterious girl who knows a thing or two about playing hockey as well as life. After a rocky start, a bond forms between Sam, Holley and AJ, and from that first meeting to the championship game, we see this bond as it becomes a friendship between the three of them, and it is in part due to this friendship that both Holley and AJ mange to teach Sam some lifelong lessons both on the off the ice, and it's through what Sam learns in these teachings that help her to see that there is more to life, including what it means to be a better person, and what it means to become "saved".

**This is a sample of my ongoing story "Ice Me Out". The story continues on Inkitt! The link is in my bio!** Vera Gray is desperate when her father blindsides her with the news that he cannot make her upcoming tuition payment. She has only a week to come up with $25,000 for her tuition, or she will be forced to drop her courses. Just when all hope seems lost, her roommate and best friend, Monica, suggests she join a sugar baby site called Sugar Rush. Although Vera is initially repulsed by the idea of becoming a sugar baby, she sets aside her reservations with Monica's encouragement and decides to sign up for the app. Hart Myers, star forward for the Washington Wizards, may be smooth on the ice, but he struggles in his relationships with women. His demanding ice hockey career keeps him on the road for several months each year-not ideal for a man nicknamed 'Hartbreak,' who has difficulty with commitment. Despite this, Hart often feels lonely while traveling, especially when his teammates are with their partners. Seeking a connection without emotional ties, he joins Sugar Rush, hoping to find a stable situationship. When he discovers Vera's profile, he is intrigued. She appears confident and knows exactly what she wants: a sugar daddy who will leave his feelings behind and provide her with financial support. It doesn't take long for these opposites to attract, leading to broken rules as their steamy relationship becomes public. However, Vera soon learns that being a WAG isn't as glamorous as it seems. She faces challenges like jealous puck bunnies, relentless social media attention that threatens to expose her secret identity, shady teammates, and jealousy.

Bliss. Delight. Contentment. Euphoria. Elation. Joy. Glee. Felicity. Jubilation. These are all words synonymous to the word happiness. But what is true happiness? Happiness is that feeling of butterflies fluttering around in your chest, trying to break out. Happiness is that invisible fluid rushing in your veins, making you shiver in the most wonderful way. Happiness is the force that pulls your cheeks up into the widest smile and makes your eyes twinkle. Happiness makes you light-headed and giddy, it is in fact like alcohol. Well then, I am utterly and completely drunk. When you're happy, everything feels amazing. Even small insignificant things like getting up in the morning. The golden hue of sunlight streaming in through the curtains feels like a soft caress from the hand of a lover. The birds seem to chirp sweetly outside, a melody to which the leaves sway as if mesmerised by their music. The curtains tango with the wind beautifully. Every little thing seems perfect. And that's a word I'd use to describe my life. Perfect. To give you a little introduction about me, let me start by explaining the most important aspects of my life. I have a loving family. There's my sarcastic, yet surprisingly sweet brother, my beautiful mother (both in looks and spirit) and my stern, yet humorous father. I have the best best friend, Charlotte and I have an amazing boyfriend, Theo. I'm quite beautiful and popular too which I'm not saying to brag, I'm just stating the truth. So that is my life. The life of Tia-Jade Garcia. *** What she didn't know was that every high has a low and that the higher you rise, the lower you fall and the more painful that fall is. Follow her story as she loses everybody she ever cared for and thereby her happiness. See her fight all of her demons by herself. Watch her fall in love...with herself because the only person's love you'll always need is yours. This is her self-love story.

New Year, Same Us - Auston Matthews

11 parts Complete

You and Auston had been friends since you were in kindergarten. You were close. Maybe too close from the outside looking in. But that was just you and Auston, never separating, never leaving from the others side. How many times did you have to tell people, "No, we're not a couple." And how many times did your heart burn wishing that you were. You were in love with him, at the very least, and you thought you did a good job at masking it from him. But apparently everyone else saw right through it. (1st person pov, (y/n) main character)
