Alone Together

(This is a semi-refurbished version of my incomplete novel Origins. The story is mostly the same. But a lot has
been changed. So bare with me as I tell it again.)

When almost your whole life has been spent by yourself, you're not really up for love. Never seen a point to it. Maybe you've had a friend or two, but they don't last. Mine for sure didn't. So of course when you are actually approached with the idea of love it comes like a shot to the face. But then that is taken away from you too. So why don't you just give up? Let go? That's what you've always done.

Well it's simple. You're sick, I'm sick, we're all sick, of being alone.
