In a land of myth and a time of magic, the destiny of a great kingdom rests on the shoulders of two young teenagers.
Their names... Merlin and Alvina.

Alvina recently moved into the castle after reading over the shoulder of her best friend's mum, she writing a letter to  Gaius about Merlin's 'Gift'.
"What is this 'gift'?" She asks his mum. She jumps, startled by the sudden voice.
"I have a gift too!" Alvina says with a cheerful smile. Then, all the candles in the room are set ablaze. Merlin's mum looks startled for a second, and then stares at the girl,
For she had never met anyone with her son's gift before, and this girl she had known for quite some time.
She then proceeded to tell Gaius in her letter about the two, and how her old friend should kindly take them in and teach them ways to hide their birthright.
