Set one year after series 5 in an alternate timeline where Arthur survives Camlaan. For one year, Camelot has had time to adjust to a new age where the magic ban has been lifted and sorcerers can practice magic freely without the fear of being hunted and killed. However, the lift on the ban hasn't come without a price - riots plague the streets of Camelot and with the people fighting amongst each other, King Alined of Deorham seizes opportunity to invade. However, to invade successfully, Alined needs to remove the one person at Arthur's side that would sure be a problem if he gets in the way - Emrys.

I got the inspiration for this story from a similar oneshot on Fanfiction.net by Aeon The Dimensional Girl if the user wishes for me to take this one down I will, however I will point out that I expanded on the concept and definitely made it my own. Originally gonna be a one shot, but ended up being too long for a one shot. Merlin returns to Camelot after Arthur dies and gets banished by Gwen.
