Broken Bones

Kingdoms, Sevorne to the east, and Aegondire to the west, have a long, bloody history. When the King of Sevorne passes away from illness, his young, power-hungry son takes the throne. The people of Aegondire have always seen the Easterners as unsophisticated beings, and when the new King puts forth a "solution", it crumbles the last of the shaky peace between the lands.

As a war begins, the Crown Princess, Esme Merideth Hawnery sets off on a quest to save her kingdom from the bloodthirsty barbarians that seize it. Accompanied by a scruffy, smart-mouthing boy, the road ahead doesn't look too bad for the two... Until she finds that this bastard-borne boy is the only person she can trust.

Esme is faced with the challenge of ridding her kingdom of the eastern invaders before they find her and destroy all she holds dear. The best way to do that is to rally forces to stand by her in this war. Though as time goes on, Esme and Coen realize there is a lot more to politics and battle than meets the eye.
