Alice had been kept as a prisoner by Kane, the Vampire King, for five years. Even after all this time, she was still waiting for the day that she would be rescued by Anna and Tate or escape from her prison on her own. Although the idea of ever leaving this place seemed to be just that, an idea, rather than a reality. After a while, Alice realized that if anyone was to save her, it had to be herself.

With Sophia also wanting to flee from the clan, she'd become an unexpected ally of Alice's.
