"What happened to them?" A small voice asked, "The people you cared about?"

She paused looking into the small humans eyes, "They left me ta die," she replied like it was no big deal. Maybe because it was, that day was it the past. An she intended to leave it there, "Like ay said, caring gets ye killed."

"Your wrong," 

The redhead smirked, "Really? Yer family cared about ye," her next words cut deep, "Were are they now?"
