Mallory McAllister is a bagel maker by day and a subway busker by night. She lives in the tunnels of Brooklyn, dreaming of serenading the world with her music, tired of the too-hot summers and too-cold winters and boring buildings and bars.

That's when she meets Alyssa, a girl who talks to books in the library. Alyssa tells Mallory of an art called the Vision, which allows Mallory to tap into her head and create masterpieces like she's never made before.

But learning the Vision is no small task, and Mallory finds that she'll have to face more battles than writer's block alone...

The Scene Is Alive Between The Lines takes place between Part 4 and Part 5 of an eight-part series. It acts as an introduction to Mallory, as well as the worlds of The Fold, the Void, and everywhere in between.
