At the end of the season two finale, Milady gave Athos a choice: go with her to England, or stay and never see her again. She'd be at the Crossroads until Twilight, waiting. Torn between knowing he shouldn't and wanting to believe, he goes. He's too late. She's gone. And anyway, it's war now for France, and he has his duty to his country, to his fellow Musketeers, to his three Brothers in Arms.
But what if he'd gone and she was still there? He would be at the Crossroads of his life in his decision. In this revisionist tale of Musketeer canon, it's twenty years later, and D'artagnan has just found Athos again. Only this time, it's D'artagnan who's too late.
