If you haven't seen insidious this is the gist, the further is pretty much a void filled with the spirits of the dead, Dalton, who is the main character can travel into the further because he is an accomplished "traveler" which means his spiritual self can leave his body while he is sleeping (also known as astro-projecting). If your spirit wanders too far it can become lost. In my fan fiction Kendra shares the same ability.
Anyway,
Dalton and Kendra are trapped together in the further, their adventurous spirits cause them to meet some unwanted friends. Will they make it out of the further? Or be stuck there forever?
