12 year old Garret was a lost and lonely boy. His dad was a drunk and his mom was a prostitute. They both hated him and he knew that. When his dad would come home drunk every night he would yell and scream at Garret and tell him that he was nothing but worthless and wouldn't be able to do anything in life. A month before Garret's 13 birthday his dad was shot coming home from a bar and his mom dropped him off at an orphanage because she refused to take care of a kid alone. He was adopted by a couple two months later. They moved three years later to start a better life for Garrett so he didn't have to remember the town.
16 year old Katie had all she could have wanted in life. Good looks, slim body, straight white teeth, and every boys attention. Except she didn't want their attention when she saw the new kid in the school. The emo kid in the corner with black hair, piercing blue eyes and a lip ring was dragging her to endless depths.

3 years ago, my Step Dad adopted a son. His name was Hunter. For 13 years of his life, Hunter was neglected and abused by his parents. Beaten and raped, Hunter knew nothing good of the world. His Father eventually became a socio-path and shot the Mother. But as he was about to kill Hunter, Police arrived. The Dad shot himself instead. Hunter is now 16 and has been living in my family for 3 years. It's an understatement to say that we don't get along. Hunter is just angry at the world. He drinks and smokes and swears and fights.
