Claire Tanney is doing everything she can to get out of Florida and move to D.C. to work in Public Policy. That includes doing Summer terms at UF, saving every penny she can for Grad school at Georgetown, and creating little to none relationships with any guy. Her reckless love life ends her up hiding from a mistake backstage at a music festival. Fed up with everyone in her life, Claire eventually breaks and vows to isolate herself from any romantic ties. That is until Sam walks up to her.
Sam Haines only cares for one thing, and that is photography. Dreaming to be a world renowned photographer, Sam starts with the baby steps in the U.S. and spends a drawn out summer with a band on tour. Hoping this would be the summer he would finally forget about his ex-fiancé before he starts Grad school, Sam faces a multitude of one-night stands and hookups. Despite the hookups, he's still uncured from heartbreak. On his last day with the band at a festival in Northeast Florida, he is bored out of his mind and unsatisfied with the day. Then he sees Claire backstage in a wrecked state.
After their summer encounter, they meet again in Claire's photography class with Sam as a grad assistant. Will Claire help Sam get over his ex-fiancé? And will Claire realize there is something for her home and not everyone in Florida is as horrible as she thinks they are?
