Mya Withers is only ten-years-old when she gets her first glimpse of the future. It doesn't come in any conventional way, instead via a three dollar McDonalds bun. She simply reads the patterns of the sesame seeds. She hates her strange ability; how the things she learns are almost always awful, how impossible it is to stop these events from happening, the sheer helplessness it makes her feel. But again and again, Mya finds herself peeping. Why? Because she is blind, colours are a mystery, art is insignificant, the faces of her family are unknown. But when she peers into the future, Mya can see.
